Construction unit cost for protection of trees or large shrubs. Cost is based on a solid barrier of chipboard and 2x4 lumber, designed for serious protection during site grading or construction work that involves a lot of vehicular traffic.

Unit Size

One shrub or tree.

Labor Costs

We figure about 3/4 hour per tree or shrub, for a crew consisting of one skilled and one unskilled worker.

Material Costs

4 2x4's, 4 sheets of chipboard and some nails. For a long-term installation you might want to substitute exterior plywood.
