Unit Size

One lineal foot of wall.

Labor Costs

We figure a little under 3 lineal feet per hour for a skilled worker with an unskilled helper.

Material Costs

The cost includes concrete for the base (66 lineal feet of base per cubic yard) plus about one ton of fieldstone for every 2 1/2 feet of wall.

Suggested Quantity

No suggested quantity. Enter the lineal feet of stone retaining walls required.

Source of Construction Pricing

Based on crew timing for one project done by Turtle Creek Construction. Note that this labor cost assumes delivery of the stone to very convenient locations along the wall site, and squarish field stone that requires a minimum of trimming to fit. Local stone in some areas may require quite a bit more time to lay.
