28' Wood Roof Truss Framing Costs
Construction Item Description
Construction framing unit cost for prefab wood roof trusses with approximately a 28 foot span.
This price includes unloading and installation of the roof trusses and installation of blocking between the trusses.
One square foot of roof area.
We figure that a two-person crew can install trusses on about 50 square feet of roof area, per hour, with one hour of crane time per 100 square feet of roof framing area.
NOTE-- The labor and material quantities are adjusted by the roof spacing listed on the Structural Dimensions screen-- for 12" spacing the labor and material costs are doubled, and for 16" spacing they are multiplied by 150%.
One truss for every 56 square feet of roof area, with a 4% waste factor.
NOTE-- This coverage rate assumes use of separate gable end trusses or regular wall framing at the two ends (not included in this unit cost). Theoretically most projects should require one less truss than the actual area, but frequently the spacing isn't even or there is some other reason to get an additional truss.
