Subcontractor 1099 Field

Starting with Goldenseal accounting software version 4.2, we have added a 1099 Total field to Subcontractor accounts. You can use it to locate subcontractors with more than the cutoff amount, when generating 1099 reports.

How to Use

This field is already included in the stock layouts for Subcontractor accounts, so you don't need to do anything special to use it.

Before you create 1099 reports for your subs, do the following to locate those above the cutoff amount:

1. Choose Subcontractors from the Accounts menu.
2. Choose Find from the Edit menu.
3. Click the Billing Setup button.
4. Turn on the Gets 1099 checkbox.
5. Type >600 into the 1099 Total field (use the current year's cutoff amount).
6. Click OK.
7. Click the Find button.
8. Goldenseal will locate all subcontractors that need to get a 1099 form.
9. To print forms, choose Print Forms from the File menu, and enter 1099 Form into the Form Type popup field.

Technical Details

Programmer note-- this field is already available, we just added it to the stock layouts. Users with earlier versions can use the Custom Layouts command to add the 1099 Total field to their layouts.
