Updates While Client is in Find Mode

PROBLEM

In the client/server version, a client who was in the middle of the Find command might sometimes have their window filled in with data, if another user happened to change and then save a record that the first client had just been using.

Turtlesoft staff.

Workaround

Close the Find window and reopen it.

Solution

This problem is fixed in version 3.7.

Technical Details

When one client changes a record, the server broadcasts a message to all other clients, so the client window will update if they happen to have that same record in view. Switching to Find mode was still keeping a reference to the previous viewed record, and data would unexpectedly be filled in to the Find window.

It's not likely that this problem happens very often, and it won't damage any data.
