Material Prices Update

We've adjusted many material prices to reflect recent price changes. The changes will make your estimating more accurate.

How to Use

If you start using Goldenseal after November 3, 2005, you'll automatically get the most recent material pricing.

If you have an earlier version, follow these steps to update prices:

1. Click here to download recent material prices.
2. Use WinZip (Windows), Stuffit Expander or ZipIt (Macintosh) to decompress the MaterialUpdate.txt file.
3. Open your Goldenseal company file.
4. Choose Import from the File menu, and choose Payroll Update from the submenu.
5. In the file open dialog, select the MaterialUpdate file you imported in steps 1 and 2.
6. Goldenseal will automatically update material prices.

WARNING-- The import will replace the purchase price for about 200 material Cost Items. If you have updated your material costs with your own local prices, do not import our prices! It will replace your numbers with ours.

Technical Details

These new material unit costs were gathered from Home Depot and other local suppliers in October and November 2005.

For some items with a range of qualities, we generally choose prices for moderately good quality materials. You may want to adjust the pricing if you usually use economy grade materials, or very high end materials.

These prices should be reasonably close for most parts of the country.
