User Required Fields

PROBLEM

If the Allow User Required Fields option is turned on (in Interface Preferences), the user doesn't fill out a required field in an account and then hits Cancel to void the account, Goldenseal freezes up or quits unexpectedly. This problem occurs only in version 3.2.

Workaround

If Goldenseal freezes up, force a Quit to get out of the freeze (Control-Alt-Delete on Windows, or Option-Escape on Mac).

When you reopen the file it will ask about checking the file, but you can say No. There shouldn't be any file damage, and you can just continue doing data entry-- just don't click cancel if you leave required fields blank in accounts!

Solution

Fixed in version 3.3 update.

Technical Details

We accidentally added an infinite loop here for some account classes, when we fixed a smaller bug in version 3.2. Fortunately the combination that triggers it is rare, and no users have reported this one.
