Setting the Network Port |

FeatureStarting with Goldenseal 3.14 you can use any networking port to connect between client and server in the Goldenseal multi-user version. This allows a more secure connection for a VPN (virtual private network). Suggested ByRequested by a couple of users. How to UseTo set the networking port on the server, follow these steps:
WARNING-- Some network port numbers are used for other purposes, and can't be used by Goldenseal. For best results type in a two letter port name. That will automatically select a number that is higher than the restricted range. To change the networking port when you sign on as client, follow these steps:
NOTE-- The server and the client always need to use the same port number. Technical DetailsGoldenseal Multi-User version 3.01 and earlier used port number 19782 (MF). Starting with version 3.13 we use port number 18176 (GS). If you have an earlier version and want to use the default port number, follow the steps above and change the server port to GS.
