Appointment and Contact Dates

PROBLEM

Meeting dates in Appointment and Contact Log records will sometimes reset to today's date.

This problem only occurs in versions 3.0 and 3.01. It only happens if the meeting date isn't today, and if you save the record by hitting the Enter key or via the Save Record command.

Workaround

Close the record and reopen it, and the original date will be OK.

You'll only lose the date if you save with the Enter key, then make another change before you close the record. In that case, correct the date and then close the window, and the record will be OK.

Solution

Fixed in version 3.1.

Technical Details

We recently improved the resetting of the Last Modified date in assemblies, cost items and accounts. Unfortunately contacts and appointments have a Meeting Date field that uses the same field tag (MDAT). So they were being reset too.
