Goldenseal File Size

How big will my Goldenseal file get?

Most Goldenseal accounts and transaction records take up about 300 to 700 bytes of disk space. That means approximately 2,000 records will fit into a megabyte of hard drive space.

In practical terms, an average-sized small business will probably fill up 1 to 4 megabytes of disk space per year. That is not likely to bother your hard drive, which probably holds several gigabytes (1,000 megabytes).

Goldenseal can handle file sizes of up to 2 gigabytes (2,000 megabytes), so you probably don't need to worry about running out of file space anytime soon.

HINT-- If you have enormous numbers of records and your file is larger than 1,000 megabytes, please let us know. There is a fairly minor change we can make that will allow storage way beyond the 2-gigabyte limit.
