Goldenseal is remodeling costs software for contractors and remodelers. It gives fast, accurate estimates, using "smart dimensions" where you can enter measurements for each room in the project. The program includes over 2000 cost items and assemblies for residential and light commercial remodeling work. They cover the complete range of construction from excavation to framing to finish and cleanup. Each assembly includes the skilled and unskilled labor for that task, plus all materials, fasteners and tools needed. Many users report that Goldenseal gives them highly accurate estimates of remodeling costs-- it is possible to spend just an hour or two on each estimate, and hit reliably within 2% to 5% of actual costs on your jobs. Once you've created a project estimate, Goldenseal also gives you a bill of materials (material takeoff), a simple project schedule, and any contracts or subcontracts you need for the work (including a detailed scope of work that is based on the line items you included in the estimate).
