Goldenseal is project estimate software for construction and for other businesses that work on large projects. The program includes Cost Items for labor, material components and equipment time. It also builds Assemblies that include labor hours, material components and other costs per square foot or some other measurement. Each estimate consists of the cost items and assemblies that are needed for the project. You can type in quantities for each item, or use "smart dimensions" which calculate quantities based on a few simple measurements. Estimates can also include allowances (for items that don't have final specifications), bids (for price quotes from subcontractors or suppliers) and purchase orders or work orders. You can also include unlisted items when there is no assembly for an item, and percentage additions to cover overhead, profit, contingencies and other "soft costs". Goldenseal is an integrated program which also includes general accounting, job costing, schedules, contract writing and project management.
