Goldenseal is payroll accounting software that tracks employee hours, calculates benefits and deductions, write paychecks and handles tax payments for withholding and employer taxes.

To set up for Goldenseal payroll, follow these steps:

  1. Import your state or provincial tax tables from the CD.
  2. Choose Payroll Setup from the Costs menu, and choose Benefit Items from the submenu.
  3. Click the New button, and enter details for each of the benefits you provide.
  4. Choose Payroll Setup from the Costs menu, and choose Vacation Items from the submenu.
  5. Click the New button, and enter details for each of the holidays or vacations you provide.
  6. Choose Payroll Setup from the Costs menu, and choose Wage Schedules from the submenu.
  7. Click the New button, and enter details for your employee wage rates.
  8. Choose Employees from the Accounts menu.
  9. Click the New button, and enter details for an employee.

To write payroll, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Labor Hours from the Costs menu.
  2. Click the New button, and enter employee hours.
  3. Choose Write Payroll from the Bank menu.
  4. Check the employee hours, then click the Write Payroll button.
  5. Goldenseal will create payroll records for the current pay period.
