Goldenseal is a job costs software program that tracks expenses for any number of projects. It is an integrated accounting and business management program that was built from the ground up to handle detailed job costing.

You can enter five different types of job cost expenses-- equipment hours, labor hours, material purchases, subcontractor costs and other costs. Each expense transaction has a place to enter the project or overhead account to which it applies, as well as a cost category, subcategory and location.

For labor, equipment and subs, Goldenseal includes a separate Job Cost Rate that calculates the amount used for job costing-- which may be different from the billing amount or the actual charge. That allows you to cover "burden" costs like supervision, overhead or payroll taxes.

You can see a "snapshot" of job costs with the Job Costs command, or see a detailed "estimated vs actual" report with one of the Project reports.

Goldenseal is integrated software which also handles general accounting, cost estimates, payroll, contracts and project management.
