Goldenseal is cost estimates software for construction or any business that needs to prepare bids or estimates. It uses "smart dimensions", unit costs and assemblies to make the estimating process faster and more accurate.

To create a Goldenseal estimate, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Estimates from the Income menu.
  2. Click the template button (to the right of the New button) and choose a template.
  3. Choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose the first set of dimensions.
  4. Enter measurements for the project.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each set of dimensions.
  6. Choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose Specifications.
  7. Click the Update Quantities button.
  8. Double-check each item in the estimate, and change any quantities if necessary. You may also want to add or change some of the specification line items.

Goldenseal uses a "library" of Cost Items and Assemblies to calculate costs for each part of your contracts. When you enter material purchases, Goldenseal automatically updates the unit costs that it uses for your estimates.

Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes job cost accounting and project management.
