Goldenseal is construction estimation software for builders, remodelers and contractors. It gives you fast, accurate cost estimates for residential and light commercial building projects. The package includes a construction starter file which already contains over 2,000 construction unit costs. It also includes several templates, which already include most of the items you'll need for a typical construction project. Once you've done a few estimates you can set up additional templates that exactly match your usual style of construction. The Goldenseal estimation software uses "smart dimensions", which let you type in a few simple measurements and automatically get quantities for all of the construction components. You can take measurements for the whole project, or for each room individually. When you enter purchases, Goldenseal automatically updates the unit costs that use those items-- so it is easy to keep your pricing up to date. Goldenseal is an integated software program that also provides accounting, scheduling and project management. It is available for Macintosh and Windows. You can use the multi-user version to share a file over a network or dial-up connection. There are many advantages to using a "one stop" integrated program such as Goldenseal. For example, when you enter labor hours, the time is automatically used for payroll, job costsand time billing. When you enter material purchases, the costs is included in job costing, time and materials billing and accounts payable. Material purchases also update the cost of all unit costs and assemblies that use those items, so you can keep your estimating costs up-to-date without additional effort.
