Goldenseal is construction costs software that gives you cost estimates for residential and light commercial building projects. It is an integrated program which also includes project schedules, contract writing, project management and general business management. Versions are available for Macintosh and Windows computers.

Goldenseal is one of the quickest construction costs estimating programs currently available, since it includes "smart dimensions" which calculate quantities for you automatically. You can estimate remodeling projects on a "room by room" basis, and handle other projects on a "whole project" basis.

To create an estimate, follow these steps:

1. Choose Estimates from the Income menu.
2. Click the template button (to the right of the New button) and choose a templatee for your usual type of construction.
3. Choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose the first set of dimensions.
4. Enter measurements, then move on to the next dimension layout.
5. When you've finished all the dimensions, choose Estimate Dimensions from the Options menu, and choose Specifications from the submenu.
6. Click the Update Quantities button to calculate quantities for each item of work.
7. Check the estimate, and make any adjustments for the specifics of this project. You may need to add more items, or change materials for some existing items.

Goldenseal includes a database of over 2000 construction unit costs and assemblies, based on our experience as Turtle Creek Construction. We were able to get very accurate estimates in our company, and you can too!

You can change any of the construction costs in Goldenseal, or add more items (usually you can save time by duplicating something that is already there, then changing the details). You can also modify any of the "smart dimensions", screen layouts, printed forms our reports.

The basic version of Goldenseal includes all of the following for $395 (single user):

The complete version costs $695 single-user, $995 for two users, $1295 for five users, and $1795 for up to 10 users. It includes all of the items mentioned above, plus these accounting features:
