Goldenseal is change order software that tracks changes to a project or sale order. It prints change order forms, tracks their acceptance, and handles billing for each change order.

To enter a billable change to a project, follow these steps:

1. Choose Change Orders from the Income menu.
2. Click the New button.
3. Enter the project where the change occurred.
4. Enter the cost and billing type, and a brief description of the change.
5. If you'd like a detailed description of the change, click on the Breakdown popup field and choose Category or Items, then enter details into the breakdown table.
6. Hit the Enter key to save the record.

To enter material expenses for a change order, follow these steps:

1. Choose Material Purchases from the Costs menu.
2. Click the New button.
3. Enter the vendor.
4. Enter a brief description of the purchase, or click on the Breakdown popup field and choose Category or Items, then enter details into the breakdown table.
5. Click in the Job field and enter the project where the purchase was used.
6. Click in the Applies To popup field and choose Change Order.
7. Enter a specific change order into the Transaction field.

To bill for a change order, follow these steps:

1. Choose Billing from the Bank menu, and choose Change Orders from the submenu.
2. Double-click on a project to see its change orders.
3. Put a checkmark next to each item that is ready to bill now, then click OK.
4. Hit the Create Bills button to create a bill for this change order.

Goldenseal is an integrated software program which also handles project management, project billing, cost estimating, contract writing, job costing and general accounting.
