Gantt Charts

Problem!

Does MacNail construction scheduling software sched do bar charts? critical path scheduling? Gantt, PERT charts? resource leveling?

Diagnosis

•There is no built-in charting function.
• MacNail Scheduling does a straight line schedule, i.e. NO Pertt or Gantt charts, NO critical path, NO resource levelling. For these things they have to export to a compatible Scheduling program (see tech entry # 121).

Solution

They could try and use XL's bar-charting features to get a picture, but we don't provide anything.

NOTE-- MacNails strength is that it knows how long each task will take (it calculates that from the assembly time and the quantities in the estimate). That makes it a good "front end" for FastTrack or other Gantt chart programs, which look nice but which don't really tell you how long things will take.
