Changing Pay Rates

Problem

how to change a wage rate for an employee entered in MacNail Construction Payroll Software
problem-- has changed a wage rate or burden, and some old items have also had the labor cost change when they shouldn't have

Diagnosis

they want to change the wage rate of an existing employee

Solution

1. Data enter all hours at the OLD wage rate.
2. If necessary, remove lookup formulas from any items already entered (select the rows, choose Lookup Formulas from the Formula menu. If it asks to add them, say OK then choose Lookup Formulas a 2nd time to remove them all).
3. Go to the Master Index and change the wage rate.
4. Data enter hours at the NEW wage rate.

To be absolutely sure there are no lingering lookup formulas, check the Query Box (make sure there are no criteria) before step 3. Then check it again after step 3, and make sure the 'total amount paid' remains the same.
