Worker's Comp Error Message

Problem

'Bad Worker's Comp' error message from MacNail Construction Payroll Software

Diagnosis

Occurs when they are doing worker's comp 'by work category', when the Labor Report 'looks up' a bad value from the comp table at the far right of the Master Index.

Solution

First of all, do they want to be doing worker's comp 'by work category'?
• If not, choose Payroll Options from Options menu and set comp to something else.
• If so, they should look at the Labor Report. Scroll down to the bottom where actual work is listed, and check the values in the WC column.

Anything that has an error in it should have the code changed in the 'cat' column so it's a legitimate number. It's also possible a non-number was entered in the comp table at the far right of the Master Index.

used to be that wc cat "z" caused lookup errors, because of a weird XL anomaly. To fix, type a "zz" just below the entry for "z" in the wc section of the master index.
