PROBLEM
getting *bad cat in cc column after posting job
costing in MacNail construction accounting software
Diagnosis
IF cat code is a letter: text in "cat" column of source log or ledger should be same
as text in cat column of cost control.
IF cat code is a number: MacNail Accounting 3.3a did not post these correctly. Must send latest, and charge
appropriate ##. If they have latest: note that codes must be entered with two periods after # in cc sheet (check
CSI for
example). e.g. cat code 1 should be entered as "1..".
Solution
less common-- if the above is working OK, they may have deleted or moved the 'jumpspot' cell.
To check, try this:
1. open the cc sheet
2. choose Goto from formula menu
3. if jumpspot is NOT in the list, it was deleted. Need to redefine in correct location (check the same cc
sheet here).
3a. if jumpspot IS in the list, go to it. Make sure it's the same location as in same cc sheet here.
If that doesn't solve problem, it may be a/ bad file name (trying to go to some other file with different
categories, or b/ code change (though never reported as such yet)
