Macro Error G106

Problem

macro error at G106
Win95, XL7 only?

Diagnosis

switching from e.g. Spec to Est causes macro error at G106 in Est.
The formula in that cell is =ACTIVATE(close.me), where close.me is set in file.name(). file.name() does a GET.DOCUMENT(nn). Perhaps Microsoft fiddled with the params again?

Solution

there are 2 ways it might be screwing up:
1. the excel version is not picking up correctly (could happen if the GET.WORKSPACE command now returns some text rather than a number).
2. MS changed what GET.DOCUMENT(88) returns somehow.

If it happens again, try looking at the defined names close.me (should be the file name) and excel.version (should be a number)

Comments

We only have seen this twice in MacNail construction estimating software and never tracked down a definitive answer. It may be a "code change" problem.
