Bombs, hangs or otherwise misbehaves frequently
while using MacNail construction

Diagnosis
• replace misbehaving applications and/or data files
•
try running without INITS: hold down shift key while restarting. If this fixes temporarily,
need to remove INITS, re-add them one by one. Changing INIT booting order sometimes helps.
•
rebuild desktop-- control shift option when first starting the computer (or mounting floppy
etc)
Solution
also might help:
•
check System heap (system 6 only)-- 'About the Finder' shows memory--white space in System
should be 15% or more. Use 'heapfixer' or other utilities to adjust it.
•
check for virus infestation
•
zap the PRAM-- control shift option and enter control panel
XL 4.0 has also been giving problems
to some people.
