Windows Estimates Crashing

PRoblem

Windows version- crashing during i/o operations, giving "general protection" error or "application error", or similar while using MacNail construction software or BidMagic construction estimating software.

Diagnosis

get them to tell you EXACTLY what they are doing to get this error. If this error can be consistently duplicated, and the program works fine otherwise, it is PROBABLY a bug in BMW, most likely DLL (=XCMD) code. Ask them to send in their files, or try to duplicate it her

Solution

NOTE-- As of 1998 we haven't had new bugs in BidMagic for several years, so if this still happens it most likely is a general computer problem of some kind.
