PRoblem here's how to force Windows to show file name extensions, so you can rename files where XL7 has gratuitously added an .XLS to the file name for MacNail construction estimating & accounting software, and won't show you suffix for file name Diagnosis WINDOWS 95: alternate route: Solution FOR WIN98- in MS Explorer click Tools, Folder Options, View. Turn off "Hide file extensions " FOR WIN 2000 and WIN XP-- Click Start button, choose Settings, choose Control Panels. Double-click on Folder Options. Click the View tab. Turn OFF the checkbox for "Hide File Extensions for known file types" (it may be a little different in XP). Comments Entered 3/31/97 by Jeremy. |
