Menu Command won't Work!

PRoblem

I do XXXXX command, but nothing happens in the MacNail construction management software.

Diagnosis

Is menu command grey?
Turns out in 'data entry' mode, Windows shows grey menu commands, but still allows commands to be selected--it just doesn't do anything (the Mac menu manager is MUCH better interface for that).

Solution

If they have X and √ showing in the formula bar, have them hit √ and then commands should work.
