French Language System

problems in CANADA or FRENCH language only, Quebec users, International users of MacNail construction management software, Europe, France

Diagnosis

MacNail has various problems if using french language.
Some problems also seem to occur in Windows if using CANADA (English) as the setting under International.

Solution

Mac: make sure you're using English XL and System
Windows: go to Program Manager, Main Window. Open Control Panel. Open International. Make sure it's English language, US as country, comma as list separator

NOTE-- we never rewrote MacNail to handle different systems (for example, 0.000,00 number format instead of 0,000.00). A few parts of the code expect a period for decimal point. Goldenseal is better at international numbering and dates-- we have tested it for all possible International settings.
