Diagnosis

for print problems and general hardware problems (a lot of 'unexpected quits, application errors or bombs) it's a good idea to try to narrow down where the problem lies, since there are a lot of ways for things to go wrong.
Often things break for non-MacNail reasons!

Solution

General troubleshooting questions:
1. Is it giving some kind of error message? If so, what?
2. What exactly happens? Does it print blank pages? Gibberish? Does it print something, just not what was expected?

IF NOT PRINTING ANYTHING----
1. Is power on? Is it jammed or out of paper? Showing other error light?
2. Are all cables correct and connected properly? (to printer not modem)
3. Is Page Setup/Chooser correct?

For support calls like this where it's really not our problem, we'll certainly still TRY by giving general advice but it's also important to make clear to them that we're really not set up to support general hardware questions and they may have to refer to manual, call the manufacturer, etcetera.
