'not enough memory to open xxxx file' message while
using MacNail construction management software
GENERAL TROUBLE-SHOOTING ROUTINE
Diagnosis
Go to the File menu, choose Open, and try to open that specific file (make sure you
get its exact name).
IF IT'S NOT THERE-- need to reset main file, switch pay blank, etc.
IF IT OPENS-- suspect a 'code change' problem if XL 4 or 5 (TA #411)
IF IT DOESN'T OPEN-- Excel should tell you why it couldn't be opened.
Solution
Possible reasons a file may not open:
• XL 5-- can't open files in XL 1.5 format (see TA #410)
• File may be corrupted or damaged. (replace with backup).
• Memory may be fragmented, or just not enough memory available (quit
and restart, get more memory, increase memory partition TA #134
• System 6-- System Heap may be overfull (see TA #29)
