File Not in Lists

PRoblem

can't open a file, file doesn't appear in the list of the Open Job Cost or Open Accounting File or Open Estimate commands while using MacNail construction management software

Diagnosis

1. Does the file exist? Check Finder (Mac) or My Computer (Win).
2. Does the file have the correct name? Needs to have correct word ending (Mac) or suffix (Win). The latter can be challenging because Windows hides suffixes.
3. Are there many items in the list?

Solution

1. If no file, that's the problem. Need to create it (or find where it is)
2. Fix the file name with the Save As command, or in FInder/My Computer
3. XL seems to have a maximum number of display items. Remove some files from the folder.
