Can't Add Bank Deposit

PROBLEM

can't add a deposit or other ledger item to ledger.
Says 'you can't do that here' while using MacNail Construction Accounting Software

DIAGNOSIS

can't add ledger items to the first row of the ledger, because it has a special formula there

SOLUTION

add it to second or subsequent row
