PROBLEM

master addresses not getting items from master index in MacNail Construction Accounting Software
they've run 'update addresses' but things in Master Index don't show up in MA file.

DIAGNOSIS

check MA file for the codes at left. Have them tell you an item that's not moving (e.g. subcontractor #40). Check for that code in MA (S 40).
If not there, try running update addresses. If still not there, defined names may be broken on Master Index, or it may be code change problem. If they have XL5 could also possibly be get.document(1) problem.

SOLUTION

nearly always, problem is because the codes are already in Master Addresses. In other words, if they already have subcontractor 40 in MA file (S 40), changing it in MI will have no affect on MA file.
We have to do it that way to avoid over-writing valid data in MacNail accounting software.
