Windows Versions

Problem

Caller is not sure which version of Windows they have.

Diagnosis

1. Click the Start button.
2. Choose Programs folder, then Accessories, then System Tools, then System Information.
3. It will show the Win version.

NOTE-- If no start button, have them put mouse way down in bottom left corner. If the bar pops up, click the Start button as usual. If no bar, then it must be Win 3.0 or 3.1 or something equally ancient. Goldenseal won't run on those. Win versions before 95 don't have a My Computer icon. Win XP may not have a My Computer icon either, but it probably will show when they click on the Start button.

Solution

The startup screen also usually says which version it is, but the above is faster if they already have computer on.

Comments

Goldenseal business management software runs on Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP.

It does not run on Windows 3.X or Windows 95.
