comments on running Goldenseal under Macintosh OS X

Diagnosis

Goldenseal 2.6 and earlier will only run in "Classic" OS 9 form. Although there was some initial flakiness w/ running GS in "classic" under OS X, things cleared up with the X.02 upgrade and are fine in X.03 as well.

No problems have been reported with 10.1, 10.2 (Jaguar) or 10.3 (Panther).

Solution

Starting with version 2.7, Goldenseal runs "native" in Mac OS X. So the above comments only apply to earlier versions of Goldenseal accounting software.

There were a few bugs in version 2.7 and 2.8 when running native in OSX. We eliminated all but one of them by version 2.9 (still some problems printing reports).
