Monolithic Slabs

Problem

what is monolithic slab used for in foundations/concrete? Is it in addition to any existing foundation?

Diagnosis

monolithic slab- that's for when one thickens the perimeter of the slab without actually forming a separate footing. monolithic is spelled out in a fair amount of detail, pp 363-364 of BidMagic construction estimating software manual.

Solution

so it's definitely in addition to any other footer/footing items= you'd need e.g. garage footing AND 'add for monolithic pour' duplicate.
