BidMagic Estimating Markup

Problem

how to find the markup percentage used in the BidMagic construction estimating software.

Diagnosis

markup is the sum of soft costs-- overhead, profit, contingencies, etc etc.
It's not shown directly in either BidMagic or MacNail estimating software, but you can compute it

Solution

to calculate the markup-- first look at a hard cost (with soft costs itemized). Then look at the same total cost (soft costs hidden).
Markup = (total cost - hard cost) / hard cost
