Studs in Wall Framing

Problem

Do wall framing assemblies include extra studs for corners, windows, doors, etc?

Diagnosis

There are separate unit prices to cover the additional framing for corners and for 'average' window/door headers in the BidMagic construction estimating software. It should work fine for most jobs. If there are very large windows or doors and deep headers are needed, they can be added under beams/trusses.

Solution

In addition, wall framing unit quantities are increased a bit to cover the 'extra' framing on an average project that's independent of the above (due to things not being exactly 2' multiples etc).

COMMENTS

We calculated the numbers by looking at theoretical for a few of our jobs and comparing that to the lumber actually consumed!
