BidMagic and HyperEstimator Compacting

Problem

error while compacting stack in BidMagic Construction Estimating Software

Diagnosis

HC requires a couple of MB of free hard disk space to compact properly, and about 100K of free RAM. Stack must be compacted regularly or performance will plummet

Solution

to save hard disk space: trash unused files.
Get a bigger HD!
to save RAM: turn off RAM cache; disable INITs, etc; prune fonts and DAs. Get a memory upgrade!
