1. It's a lot easier to use, because of its graphics.
2. It does remodeling projects on a 'room by room' basis, and prints out the approximate cost per room.
3. It's better at handling unusual roofs and foundations, and calculates overhead/profit/sales tax in more ways.
4. It does NOT require any other software to run.

Solution

note that there's an attractive package price for BOTH MacNail Estimating Software and BidMagic. Many people do a "ballpark" construction estimate in BidMagic, then import to MacNail for a finished bid.
