BidMagic vs MacNail Estimate Prices

Problem

• BidMagic bid and MacNail estimate have different numbers, prices, costs after export
• Big difference between BM and McN after importing a bid to MacNail construction estimating software

Diagnosis

• Did they do a rough estimate in BM? Quality and locality factors do NOT go into MacNail, so MacNail estimate is probably lower at first.
• Is MacNail higher? Did they use the 'Clear Estimator' command to remove pre-included? If YES/NO, they need to clear the estimator first.
• Otherwise, check if the price difference is in just one cost category, or just one area (labor/mat'l/subs), or just soft costs, or general.

Solution

is just labor dramatically different? May be using very different wage rates (MacNail uses different wage rates for each trade). Can set all wage rates in Fixed Costs the same as carpenter, to fix this (or accept the difference, since it makes MacNail more accurate!)
is just one item different? Go to Specs and see what's going on with it
