Payroll Taxes and Sales Taxes

Problem

They don't see items they expect in Pay Bills-- payroll tax or sales tax payments.

Diagnosis

1. Check the Tax Item. Must have payee account there. If they added account recently, previous payroll items will still not have tax due since it happens when they use Write Payroll command in Goldenseal payroll software.
2. Try a later cutoff date in the Pay Bills window. The tax may not be due yet.
3. Check account status-- if Inactive or Closed, it won't be listed.

Solution

If they added tax "paid to" recently, it will be a pain to go back and repost all the sales (sales tax) or payroll (payroll tax). Probably easier to calculate the tax balance by their previous method and enter a simple Other Cost transaction for that amount. At least Goldenseal will track amounts in the future.
