Entering a Material Directly
You may know the exact name
of a material component, but may not remember the category to which it belongs. In that case, you
can enter the material directly.
To do so, follow these steps:
1. Hold down the Option or Command keys, and click on the pop-up button for the component.
2. The BidMagic construction estimating software will ask you the name of the component you wish
to add.
3. Enter the exact name of the component and click OK.
4. BidMagic will add the item to the assembly.
Finding a Material
If you do not know the exact name of a material component you wish to add,
you can use the Find command in the Edit menu to search for it.
To use the Find command, follow these
steps:
1. Choose Find from the Edit menu.
2. Enter a description of what you're looking for. Usually it's best to limit the description
to one word or just part of a word.
3. The BidMagic construction estimating software will find the first material category that includes an item
that contains that text.
4. If that is not the right category, choose Find Again from the Edit menu to find the next instance of the
text.
NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating
software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction
estimating software.

as a convenience for users of our older program.
