Updating Unit Costs

Step Three: Update Unit Prices in Bids and Bidding Templates

To update the unit prices in a BidMagic bid or bidding templates, follow these steps:

1. Open the bid you would like to update.
2. Choose Update Material Prices from the Data menu.
3. You will be asked which specifications categories you would like to update. To update unit prices in all categories, click the Select All button. To update prices in only a few specifications categories, select the appropriate categories from the list, and click OK. HINT: Use the Shift and Command keys to select more than one category.
4. BidMagic will now update the selected unit prices. It may take a few minutes, depending on the number of items and the speed of your computer.
5. Click the Calculator button in the upper right hand corner of the bid window to see how the material price changes have affected your overall bid price.

To update prices in more than one bid or bidding template, repeat steps 1 through 5 for each file you would like to update.

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software. We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program.
