Takeoff Preferences

Setting Takeoff Preferences

To control the way takeoffs are created, choose Preferences from the Navigate menu, and use the controls at center left.

Add Waste to Takeoffs?

Turn on this button to include the waste factor when calculating takeoff quantities.
Turn it off to ignore the waste factor when calculating takeoff quantities.

NOTE: The waste factor will still be used to calculate material unit prices, even if it is not used for takeoffs.

Takeoff Type

Click the Takeoff Type button to change what is included in material takeoff lists.

Choose Materials by Work Done to only show takeoff materials listed by the separate line items of work.
Choose Combined Materials to only show the actual materials that will be needed for the entire project.
Choose Both to get both kinds of reports.

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program.
