When you are doing bidding or estimating with the BidMagic software, you can also 'jump around' and work
on the bid in any order. This is particularly useful if you forget something, or if there is
a change in some project detail after you've already
started the bid.
Use the Compass
button near the upper right corner of the BidMagic window to quickly move anywhere in BidMagic.
To use the
Compass button, follow these steps:
- Click on the Compass with the mouse, and hold down the button.
A menu of BidMagic sections will 'pop up.'
- Choose a section--or in some cases, choose a specific
card from the submenu-- and release the
mouse when the correct item is highlighted.
- You will be taken to that part of the estimate. EXAMPLE: To go to the card where Roofing
Dimensions are entered, click the Compass, move the mouse down to the Dimensions
line, then choose Roof from the submenu.
You can also move around quickly with the Navigate menu at the top of the
screen. To use it, follow these steps:
- Click the mouse on the Navigate menu at the top of the screen.
- Keep holding down the mouse,
and move it down to select one of the commands in the menu. Release the mouse button,
and you'll
go to that part of BidMagic. EXAMPLE: To see a detailed breakdown of the project
cost, choose Bottom Line from the Navigate menu.
To return to the card that you were in most recently, choose Recent
Card from the Navigate menu.
NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating
software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction
estimating software.
We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual
as a convenience for users of our older program.
